SHIPPING AND RECEIVING PERSONNEL

Shipping and Receiving Personnel Adirondack Studios – Argyle, NY Adirondack Studios (ADKS) is hiring additional Shipping and Receiving personnel to support our business growth, specifically in the areas of Handling, Packaging, and Load Out (HPLO). The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the proper packaging and loading of our custom scenery to locations worldwide, making your role crucial to our global operations. This hire will replace an existing position and will report directly to the HPLO Department Manager. Duties: Our HPLO employees compile, scan, seal, and load various custom packages and crates before they’re delivered to our clients. This staff is also responsible for receiving raw materials and shipments from our vendors. Primary duties include protecting custom scenery, placing items into packages/crates, confirming packaging label/destination, and lifting and loading heavy packages onto trucks. Other duties include: * Manually move material from one place to another * Pack finished product in boxes/crates by hand and keep a record of the items packed and shipped * Communicate with co-workers, project managers, and clients to ensure safe and on-time delivery of finished goods * Handle physically demanding movements like pushing, pulling, bending down, and lifting packages * Responsible for handling packages without dropping or damaging them * Fork Truck operation and safety * Assist in building custom crates (light carpentry skills) * Operation of manual/motorized pallet jack * Expedite and receive FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL (and other) shipments as well as related paperwork * Safely move product both between and within departments * Support receiving custom deliveries and accurate distribution throughout the building * Maintain packaging materials inventory * Help secure building/loading docks at the end of the day * Ability to read blueprints, sketches, shop and construction drawings, and extract information, including material dimensions * Adept in industry-related programs, including Microsoft Excel, TEAMS, and Outlook * Coordinate with internal team members and the Manager to establish responsible shipping strategies * Willingness and ability to organize, lead, and motivate a team towards loading an active shipment. Benefits include: * Personal Time accrual of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked immediately upon hire * Vacation Accrual: 4% of hourly compensation contributed by ADKS, payable in March of each year.  Accrual begins after the initial 1000 hours worked * Participation in the ADKS 401K plan following 90 days of employment and then at quarterly enrollment periods * Retirement Annuity offered at no cost to the employee based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) * Participation in Medical, Dental, and Vision plans * Participation in the ADK Studios Profit Sharing Plan following 3 years of employment. Employees must work a minimum of 1000 hours per calendar year, and ADKS must reach financial goals This position is based in Argyle, New York, conveniently located just 1 hour north of Albany and approximately 30 minutes from Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls. The anticipated shift is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
