Job Description

As a Security Engineer, Product Security, Cloud CISO at Google, you'll play a critical role in securing Google Cloud and its users. You'll work with cross-functional teams to identify and address security vulnerabilities, implement security controls, and develop security strategies. This role involves hands-on work with security technologies and protocols, along with collaboration with engineering teams and other stakeholders to ensure the integrity and resilience of Google Cloud products and services. You'll also contribute to the development of security policies and procedures, and stay abreast of the latest threats and vulnerabilities. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the security landscape within a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2 years of experience with security assessments, design reviews, or threat modeling
2 years of experience in security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols
2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages

Good to have:

Experience in penetration testing
Experience in consulting

Minimum qualifications:

About the job

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

In this role, you help set the direction for product security in Google Cloud and partner with amazing existing teams across Google. These include existing security teams, privacy teams and engineering teams. Help set the focus, direction and impact of this organization with regards to product security. There is an exciting mix of work to be accomplished across multiple security domains. A few examples are: security reviews, security education, web application scanning and testing, vulnerability research and security data analysis all with the goal of highlighting and driving down risk.

Responsibilities

Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
Perform security reviews, research and reproduce vulnerabilities, design secure protocols and systems, and write tests.
Look for vulnerabilities with techniques including reverse engineering, fuzzing, and static analysis.
Focus on the security strategy for Google Cloud.
Respond to vulnerabilities with repos, mitigations, and hardening, Surface vulnerability patterns and design them out.
