The Senior Interior Designer will support various projects by assisting in design development and technical documentation. Responsibilities include creating graphic illustrations, imagery boards, color renderings, and conducting research. Technical tasks involve color & material design, CAD support, and FF&E design & specifications. The role requires 7+ years of experience in interior design, proficiency in CAD and digital illustration tools (Creative Suite, Illustrator, SketchUp), and strong communication skills. This is a 30-month project hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.

The Interior Design family is responsible for the design of interior spaces in our theme parks, primarily restaurants, retail, theaters, and attraction queue lines. They are also responsible for our hotels and cruise ships' design or design oversight. The scope of work encompasses conceptual design through contract documentation, including specifications of all materials and furnishings.

It’s a given that our Interior Designers have the technical expertise to do their jobs well. We’re looking for professionals who have an appetite for diverse experiences, are eager to learn, and are confident they can maintain the exacting standards for which The Walt Disney Company is loved.

What You Will Do

  • Provide support to various projects by assisting in project design development and technical documentation.

  • Provide design documentation in the form of graphic illustration, imagery boards, color renderings, and research and documentation on assigned projects.

  • Perform various basic technical tasks and documentation, including color & material design and documentation, basic CAD support, and FF&E design and specifications.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7 years of working knowledge and experience in interior design.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated thoughtful design, artistic skills and professional judgment in problem solving.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in CADD and digital illustration tools such as Creative Suite, Illustrator, and SketchUp.

Preferred Qualifications

  • No professional licensure is required but should be working towards passing NCIDQ exam for certification.

Required Education

  • A 4-year degree from an accredited interior design program or related field.

The hiring range for this onsite position in Glendale, CA is $94,200.00 to $126,200.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
