Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer in Engineering Productivity at Google Cloud Platforms, you'll design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. Responsibilities include writing and testing code, conducting code reviews, contributing to documentation, and troubleshooting system issues. You'll work with embedded operating systems and participate in design reviews. The role requires strong software development skills, experience with data structures and algorithms, and a proven track record in software product development and testing. This is a full-time position requiring strong technical expertise and leadership qualities.

Must have:

5+ years software development experience
Experience with data structures/algorithms
3+ years experience testing/launching software
3+ years embedded OS experience
Software design and architecture experience

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in CS or related field
Technical leadership experience
Experience with accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Write and test product or system development code.
Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
