The role requires a California Professional Engineer's License, extensive experience in structural inspection, and familiarity with amusement park operations and relevant codes/standards. The Senior QE will also work with internal partners such as Engineering, Engineering Services, Central Shops, and Operations.

About the Role & Team

Job Overview

As a Senior Quality Engineer (QE) in Worldwide Safety Assurance Disneyland Resort Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical safety, compliance assurance, and oversight for Disneyland Resort attractions and facilities. The Senior Quality Engineer exercises broad discretion while providing required authority technical guidance to ensure that our attractions and facilities are aligned with applicable laws, Standards, and Codes. This is a Internal Assignment / Project Hire role. You will report to Quality Assurance Manager.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities/On any given day, as a Senior, Quality Engineer you might:

  • We conduct inspections to competently examine and assess the structural attributes, including structural supports and foundations, wind and seismic integrity, structural bracing of the registered attractions and facilities.

  • Assist with audits performed by the Quality Engineers to support annual certification of the registered attractions. Follow up on, accurate and close out findings and observations.

  • Provide general Quality Engineering support to internal partners, such as Engineering, Engineering Services, Central Shops, Operations, and others as the need arises.

  • Assist in the development of compliance-related processes and procedures, including internal and external standards.

  • Review and assess alignment of requirements and frequency between Manufacturer’s Requirements, Operating Guides, Job Plans, and maintenance criteria.

  • We participate in hazard analysis, design, and delivery reviews for compliance with codes and standards

  • We establish and follow a framework for identifying the completion of all necessary documentation, including drawings, manuals, procedures, training, and certification to permit and ensure the safe use of the system by Cast and Guests.

  • Write and maintain the structural inspection scopes of work for contracted structural inspections, and ensure they meet all requirements listed in the Manufacturer’s Requirements (MR) document.

  • Review results of contracted and internal structural inspections of registered attractions and facilities and provide engineering dispositions for findings resulting from those inspections.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • California Professional Engineer’s License

  • Proven experience inspecting structures including foundations.

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience - Proven ability in Engineering, showing growing levels of responsibility.

  • Minimum 2 years of amusement park experience

  • Experience with design, installation, and commissioning of complex systems that meet regulatory and industrial standards.

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex data relationship in concise and straight forward presentations.

  • Ability to lead, balance, and prioritize different projects.

  • Proven knowledge of Maximo, EDMS, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

  • Ability to work after hours and off-shift hours as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with industry regulatory, compliance standards and processes.

  • American Society for Quality Certifications.

  • Civil or Structural Engineering background.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Education

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, California is $103,500.00 to $138,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA. is $102,000.00 - $136,700.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
