The Auto Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for repairing and replacing damaged vehicle parts, ensuring a high-quality, invisible repair that meets or exceeds factory standards. Responsibilities include repairing bumpers, fenders, sheet metal, and chassis; disassembling vehicles for damage analysis; performing frame straightening and repairs according to factory specifications; removing and installing body parts; sanding and preparing surfaces for painting; reassembly, headlight adjustment, and final alignments; and inspecting work for quality. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with an OEM 4S auto body shop working with aluminum vehicles, is skilled in restoring damaged sheet metal or plastic, and possesses a strong attention to detail. They must be proficient with various tools and techniques for major collision repairs and have knowledge of corrosion protection techniques. Global travel for training and assisting other Tesla locations may be required.
