Job Description

As a Customer Engineer at Google Public Sector, you'll partner with sales teams as a data analytics expert, helping customers understand and utilize Google Cloud. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, managing customer relationships, demonstrating product integrations, recommending integration strategies, and troubleshooting technical issues related to database migrations and the data lifecycle. You'll work with technical stakeholders and executive leaders, presenting solutions and resolving technical blockers. The role requires extensive experience with cloud-native architecture and cybersecurity, and involves travel to customer sites and events.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
10+ years cloud native architecture or cybersecurity experience
Experience with Federal Civilian customers
Technical stakeholder and executive engagement
Problem-solving key technical issues for customers

Good to have:

Experience in technical sales or consulting
Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and data processing
Experience with architecture design and optimization of scalable systems
Experience with State, Local, and Public Sector clients

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience with cloud native architecture or cybersecurity in a customer-facing or support role.
Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Experience promoting technology solutions to the Federal Civilian customers.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in technical sales or consulting in cloud computing, data analytics, or Big Data.
Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch / real-time event processing, streaming, data processing (ETL/ELT), data migrations, data visualization tools and data governance on cloud native architectures.
Experience with architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems.
Experience in understanding customer requirements with the ability to break down requirements and design technical architectures.
Experience with State Local Public Sector clients including state, county, local municipal agencies, and academic institutions.

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams as a data analytics subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks related to database migrations, data back ends and all aspects of the data lifecycle.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$214,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
Own the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources.
Demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.
Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.
