As a Data & AI Engineer at Iron Mountain, you will be a key member of the Data Platforms team, contributing to both the enhancement of internal data capabilities and driving innovation through the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and deploying scalable data pipelines using modern data engineering tools. You will build and maintain data models, develop and implement AI/ML models for various business applications. Collaborating with data scientists to productionize and monitor models, and implementing data quality frameworks. The role involves optimizing costs, contributing to data governance, working closely with stakeholders, and staying updated with the latest trends and technologies. You'll also troubleshoot data-related issues and document technical designs.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms and services.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data modeling principles.
Good to have:
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience with MLOps practices and tools.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.

The Opportunity:  

Iron Mountain is seeking a talented and passionate Data and AI Engineer to join our dynamic Data Platforms team. Reporting to the Manager of Data Platforms, you will play a critical role in both bolstering our internal data capabilities and driving innovation through the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to both the "defense" of our data assets (ensuring quality, optimizing costs) and the "offense" (enabling data-driven decision-making and creating new revenue streams through AI-powered solutions). You will work with a variety of data sources, cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions across the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and techniques to ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources into our data platforms (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses).

  • Build and maintain robust and efficient data models that support analytical and machine learning workloads.

  • Develop and implement AI/ML models for various business applications, including but not limited to predictive analytics, natural language processing, computer vision, and anomaly detection.

  • Collaborate with data scientists to productionize and monitor machine learning models, ensuring their performance and reliability.

  • Implement and maintain data quality frameworks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of our data assets.

  • Optimize data storage and processing costs by identifying and implementing efficient solutions.

  • Contribute to the development of data governance policies and procedures.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data and AI needs and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, AI, and machine learning.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely and effective manner.

  • Document technical designs, processes, and implementations.

  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and best practices.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on building and maintaining data pipelines.

  • Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.  

  • Experience with cloud data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).

  • Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

  • Knowledge of data modeling principles and techniques.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications.

  • Experience with MLOps practices and tools for model deployment and monitoring.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset.  

  • Experience working in an agile development environment is preferred.
