Summary

Ubisoft Bordeaux seeks a Data Scientist Assistant for a 6-month internship within the Connect team. Connect is a cross-platform ecosystem for players, aiming to provide the best gaming experience. Responsibilities include understanding partner team needs, defining data collection, proposing analyses with data analysts, creating dashboards (Tableau) and presentations, developing ETL scripts on Hadoop, automating processes, implementing quality monitoring, and designing predictive models (linear regression, decision trees, random forests). The role requires strong SQL, Python, and English skills.
Must have:
  • Proficient in SQL and Python

  • Strong communication skills
Good to have:
  • Data warehousing tool knowledge (Hive)

Ubisoft Bordeaux

Founded in 2017, Ubisoft Bordeaux works with passion on the biggest AAA titles to deliver the best gaming experiences. Today, the studio is composed of 400 talents from 20 different nationalities, working on licenses such as Assassin's Creed, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and a free to play game, BattleCore Arena. At the same time, the studio has set up a Tech branch which works on all Ubisoft's online services (named Online Services) as well as on the Anvil game engine. Ubisoft Bordeaux is also home to a R&D team, La Forge, which brings together engineers and researchers to work together on prototypes for game production, particularly around AI topics.

Job Description

Ubisoft Bordeaux is looking for a Data Scientist Assistant (6-month internship) to join the Connect teamUbisoft Connect is a cross-platform ecosystem of services for players and the hub for all the Ubisoft games. Its goal is to provide players with the perfect environment to enjoy their games and connect with others, regardless of the platform.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding the questions and challenges of partner teams and defining the data to be collected
  • Proposing relevant analyses in collaboration with data analysts
  • Presenting these analyses through reliable and visual dashboards (the team primarily uses Tableau) and/or PowerPoint presentations
  • Developing and maintaining scalable and efficient ETL scripts on Hadoop
  • Automating processes and implementing quality monitoring
  • Designing predictive models (artificial intelligence), such as linear regression, decision trees, or random forests

Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Student in Machine Learning, Computer Science/Statistics looking for a 6-month internship
  • Proficient in SQL (complex queries, table creation) and Python
  • Basic knowledge of a dashboarding tool (ideally Tableau)
  • Strong command of English – our team is international

Bonus Skills

  • Solid knowledge of a data warehousing tool (ideally Hive), Airflow, and Git
  • Experience implementing a predictive model
  • Familiarity with time series analysis

Soft Skills

  • Adaptable and curious about various projects
  • Interest in the video game industry

Additional Information

Contract: 6-month internship

Location: role based in Bordeaux – France

Starting Date: February 2025 ideally

Hiring Process:

  • Video interview with one of our recruiters
  • Interview with the managers
  • A live technical test based on a use case
