Scopely is looking for a Director, Finance Business Partner to lead the FP&A function of our Slate Portfolio Division. Reporting to the VP of Finance and partnering closely with our Co-CEO and senior leadership, you will play a critical role in driving financial excellence across our games-in-development portfolio.

Your deep financial insights, analysis, and strategic recommendations will be pivotal in helping shape the slate of titles we launch for years to come
What You Will Do
Strategic Leadership Collaboration: Serve as the dedicated Finance Business Partner for all games-in-development titles, working closely with the Co-CEO, Executive Producers, and General Managers throughout development cycles. Develop financial models, ensure consistency in assumptions across various stages, and drive financial performance.
Operational Excellence and Process Improvement: Elevate the slate management process to a world-class level by partnering with the Slate Development Group (SDG) to establish consistent reporting and forecasting processes. Enhance efficiency within the game development framework, align marketing strategies with central teams, and coordinate with live portfolio finance partners for seamless financial support during title launches.
Strategic Financial Analysis and Growth Initiatives: Collaborate with the Business Development team to assess P&L and cash impacts from external developer investments. Support merger and acquisition opportunities through financial modeling and contribute to the growth strategy of the Slate portfolio. Provide leadership with insights into projected returns on investments by offering IRR and NPV analysis leveraging Scopely's in-house expertise.
Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Mentor other finance professionals, fostering a problem-solving and hands-on culture. Maintain strong partnerships with senior leadership and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Analysis: Oversee the Slate Portfolio Division’s budgeting process, including long-term planning, monthly reporting against actuals, forecast updates, and resource and headcount planning. Deliver in-depth KPI-based revenue forecasts, perform scenario analyses to inform strategic decisions, and review contract terms to evaluate budget implications of vendor agreements.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 8+ years of finance experience; MBA preferred.
Industry Background: Experience in start-ups, technology, investment banking, or strategic consulting is required; gaming industry experience is strongly preferred.
Leadership Skills: Prior team management experience with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to interact effectively and maintain strong partnerships with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Adaptability: Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities with proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Problem-Solving: Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills with minimal oversight.
Desire for Improvement: A strong desire for continuous improvement and the ability to work well under ambiguity and pressure.
Hands-On Experience: Experience in a roll-up-your-sleeves environment is a plus.
For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $187,500 - $215,000, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
