Scopely is looking for a VP of Marketing to join a new cross-platform original IP title in the US (preferably Los Angeles) on an in-person/hybrid or remote basis.

The Marketing team deeply understands a game’s audience, creative strategy, and priorities. They are the glue between the Brand, Product, and our Player Communities that will redefine our social strategy to amplify our games across new and existing social channels while building a meaningful community for our players.

What You Will Do

The VP and Head of Marketing is the lead marketer in the organization for their game title and is ultimately responsible for crafting and overseeing delivery on category-winning marketing strategies.  You’ll be focused on leading marketing for an exciting in-development cross-platform, new title, which means being involved early in the game’s development. Our expert game developers will be looking to you for collaboration to incorporate smart marketing vehicles and capabilities into and around the game - ones that will best help the game attract and build a powerful audience of fans and players around the world. 

Lead the creation of the holistic Marketing strategy for a new cross-platform title at Scopely. You will research, define and articulate the best path and plan to achieve the audience growth goals for your game(s). This includes:
  • Branding, Positioning, Alignment and USP(s).
  • Developing a cutting-edge GTM strategy factoring in community development, user acquisition, content creators and brand building.
  • Leading the definition and evolution of the overall creative marketing strategy for the game.
  • Incorporating best available marketing, competitor and insights research.
  • Developing a strong community program which should include building the community, engaging with them and bringing them along on the development journey to ensure we have an avid fan base ready for launch and beyond.
  • Be the marketing advocate and partner to the game developers in the studio, ensuring our approach and strategy for showcasing each game’s best elements align to our target audience’s needs and personas.
  • As a game progresses and scales you’ll design, build and nurture a team of skilled and highly capable Marketers under you to execute, test, and adapt the strategy as the game evolves and grows.
  • Work hand-in-glove with our talented marketing teams and departments to deliver and implement their components of the strategy, including Performance Marketing, Marketing Data & Analytics, Creative, Player Research and more.
  • Manage executive communications for all marketing and GTM efforts.
 
What We’re Looking For

This role requires someone who can bring together the art and science of modern-day Free-2-Play (F2P), PC/Console and Mobile game marketing, with the ability to support a title across multiple hardware platforms. Community, brand and performance marketing must be thoughtfully orchestrated with a full complement of product marketing avenues to ensure we deliver a world-class gaming experience for our players.

  • 10-12+ years of experience leading and running marketing strategies and teams for successful X-Platform F2P titles (sustained live service games).
  • Hands-on experience bringing new X-Platform or PC/Console F2P games to market.
  • Ability to adapt and evolve traditional console/PC marketing to be more data and community-driven.
  • Experience partnering with Product leaders to position new features for our players, and bring them to market.
  • A passion for leveraging best-known methods (and pioneering new ones!) around Influencer and Community-oriented marketing programs for games or services with loyal, avid fan bases.
  • A truly committed team player, you’re someone who knows how to partner across teams and functions, get them inspired and aligned behind a strategy and a plan.
  • A track record of developing, testing and establishing innovative marketing strategies that deliver breakthrough results.
  • Strong foundations in sound Marketing analytics and testing methods across a variety of marketing channels. You know what good looks like and how to work with our Marketing Analytics team to ensure our programs are instrumented, measured and analyzed correctly. You can coalesce and present the measurable impact of your team’s efforts with confidence.
  • Great understanding of the mobile and performance marketing landscape.
  • An excellent communicator, especially at the executive level.

  • Previous experience and success at scale managing influencer and/or community-centric acquisition programs. 
  • Global experience - You’ve adapted and optimized strategies, programs, and campaigns for different markets around the globe.

For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $255,000 - $280,000, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
