Scopely is looking for a QA Lead for an ambitious, unannounced title, mobile first RPG in the US on a remote basis.

What You Will Do:
Lead a team of internal/external QA members, directing daily efforts as well as supporting their individual career growth
Align regularly with Deployment Project Manager (DPM) on QA priorities, timelines, reports and blockers
Report bugs clearly and directly, adding all necessary details so that the team responsible for resolving the issue has a complete understanding of what is incorrect
Define the priority of bugs according to established guidelines
Write test cases according to the specifications of the functionality
Creating testing strategies for different environments (Staging, production, etc)
Estimate cost/effort for software testing tasks within the QA team and or while collaborating with Deployment Project Manager (DPM) on resources needed for Functional and LiveOps testing
Track overall progress of testing and identify bottlenecks or resource needs
Build test plans for version approval
Coordinate with other teams to ensure timely delivery of tech documentation for features test case breakdown and testing estimation
Observe and disseminate quality control metrics, such as defect density and the number of open defects
Identify the need for tools to test functionalities and specify the scope with DevQA and LiveOpsQA
Automation scripting guidance and direction to QA team by getting a high level overview of their daily processes and automation needs
Manage defect databases and provide defect and quality reports
Coordinate with Deployment Project Manager (DPM) on scheduling testing in Store Applications such as Apple Store Connect (Test Flight) and Google Play Store
Participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning and sprint retrospectives
Serve as a technical reference for less expert QA Analysts
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working in a Senior QA role in Gaming and/or Entertainment. 12+ years of experience with software testing, ideal to have experience in LiveOps and releases. 5 years of QA management experience
Experience working in a Live Service Model and planning multiple releases
Well versed in team management best practices, including streamlining workflows, tracking dependencies, long-term planning and personal coaching
Excited to jump in and help test all areas of our game and platform as well as contribute ideas to help explore game concepts across the development process
Prior experience usage of issue tracking tools such as Jira/TestRail/BugSnag
Cross-Platform experience between PC and Mobile devices preferred
Able to understand the real impact of a bug on the player's experience
Experience in managing direct reports and vendor QA teams. Able to collaborate with international-based teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to advocate for QA and being the voice of quality in the room
QA works directly with all areas and phases of game development, and a curious profile tends to try to understand the reasons behind decisions and their impact on the product.
Proactive: As the last phase of the development cycle, the chance of a QA being unable to complete a task is high. It is important to be very proactive in these moments to seek solutions with other team members
QA is the professional who points out problems in others' work. It is important to be very friendly when communicating with others to avoid conflicts
In-depth knowledge of software quality control techniques, tools, and methods
Able to navigate engines like Unity
Capable of crafting and developing automated tests
Familiar with Build Pipelines best practices and test plan strategies
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Game Design
For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $79,900 - $98,800, plus equity, bonus and benefits, including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
