The open position will be filled within the ranks of Professor of Practice, Clinical Professor, or Assistant Professor appointments,depending on earned degrees, SACSCOC faculty credentials guidelines, research, and applicant qualifications.

Teaching positions are full-time on an annual renewal cycle (non-tenure track) and schedules follow a 10-month academic calendar. Some faculty members may choose to apply to teach during the summer term; all faculty members are encouraged to use the summer months to practice their craft and maintain credentials as digital game development professionals as well as researchers.

SMU Guildhall, located in Dallas, Texas, is an award-winning, internationally top-ranked graduate video game development education program. The two-year master's-level program has graduated nearly 1000 students, and alumni are working at over 350 video game studios around the world.
The Guildhall offers a Master of Interactive Technology in Digital Game Development degree and Professional Certificate in Digital Game Development program. It is currently one of the few programs in the U.S. offering specializations in all four cornerstones of game development: Art Creation, Level Design, Production, and Programming.
