Entry-Level Game Software Developer

Torch Technologies, a 100 percent employee-owned company, is seeking a professional Game Software Developer to join a team currently developing spatial computing and advanced visualization applications. Candidates applying for this position will have the opportunity to develop interactive visualization products.

The candidate selected for this position will be a member of an agile development team working closely with other developers, artists, and subject matter experts. The ideal candidate must be able to work well within a multi-disciplinary collaborative team environment.

Expectations and Responsibilities:

• As a member of the Advanced VizLab, you are expected to be a positive, pro-active, and contributing team member.
• You will be become familiar with Game Engine features and develop an understanding of character interaction mechanics, systems emulation and simulation, camera, and controls.
• With guidance from team members, you will contribute to building components and training content for our training applications.
• You will develop the skills to deliver fast iterations while creating maintainable, testable, well-structured high-quality code.
• You will be responsible for documentation and support including automated tests and low-level debugging of the features you create.

Technical Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and 0-2 years of experience.
• Basic understanding and experience with C++ or C#.
• Basic understanding of Object-Oriented Programming.
• Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Passion for software development and video games.

Desired but Not Required Experience:

• Database application familiarity.
• Unreal Engine & Blueprint development.
• Basic understanding of the Scrum development framework.
• Basic understanding of using Software Code Repositories (Git, Perforce Helix, etc.) during development.

• Must be a team player and know the importance of listening to others.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
• Must be proactive and help with problem-solving.
• US Citizenship is required for this position.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a United States SECRET clearance is required for ongoing employment in this position.
