Job Description

The Full Stack Developer will be responsible for designing and developing scalable applications for mission-critical systems. They will be involved in all phases of a multi-tier software development cycle, debug and maintain existing systems, optimize and refactor code, review code changes, and write/maintain documentation. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills, all while maintaining a fine balance between timely deliveries, performance, and code quality.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using core Java (minimum 2 years).
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with reactive JS frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix.
  • Strong English communication skills.

This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office / 2 days remote).

About your team:

The team is dynamic and focuses on developing efficient and scalable applications. We design and develop both internal web applications for our brokerage operations and external client-facing web applications. The emphasis is on doing things correctly while maintaining a fine balance between timely deliveries, performance, and code quality. An ability to work independently and an interest in solving ad hoc problems are highly desired strengths.

 What will be your responsibilities within IBKR: 

  • Designing and developing scalable applications for mission-critical systems.
  • Being involved in all phases of a multi-tier software development cycle (Web Applications, Middle tier, Scripts)
  • Debugging and maintaining existing systems.
  • Optimizing and refactoring existing code for improved reliability and performance.
  • Reviewing code changes made by other developers.
  • Writing and maintaining design and engineering documentation

 Which skills are required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related degree
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with light supervision
  • Knowledge of relational databases (including handling of large/complex data sets), SQL, PL/SQL (Oracle is a plus)
  • Familiarity with object-oriented design and understanding of commonly used design patterns
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using core Java
  • Experience with scripts in Python or another scripting language
  • Familiarity with reactive JS frameworks like VueJS
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix
  • Strong English communication skills
