Skydance Animation seeks an Assistant Production Accountant to support Production Accountants on various film productions. Responsibilities include managing the Smart Accounting System, cost uploads, vendor payments, processing e-files, supporting payroll, managing crew transfers, assisting with onboarding, accounts payable (including vendor setup and wire transfers), reconciling statements, maintaining journal entries, ensuring invoice/check/timecard approvals, problem-solving, processing billbacks, working within Intacct, and communicating effectively with various teams. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of payroll accounting experience, Entertainment Partners (EP) Smart Accounting knowledge, Excel proficiency, understanding of union pay requirements (Local 839, Local 700, SAG), strong organizational and communication skills, and ideally, animation industry experience.

Job Details
Skydance Animation is seeking an Assistant Production Accountant that directly supports the Production Accountants of various film productions. The primary responsibilities of this position is to manage the show(s) Smart Accounting System and all cost uploads and vendor payments.
Responsibilities
- Process e-file paperwork and maintain files accurately and timely
- Support Payroll Manager with weekly EP Payroll processing and posting
- Manage show to show crew transfers with Human Resources and other team members with staffing profile changes
- Assist with onboarding crew members from other shows or new hires
- Accounts Payable; including Vendor setup in Smart Accounting and online wire transfers
- Help reconcile monthly credit card statements and show Cashet System
- Maintain monthly journal entries (non-union payroll, banking, and studio paid costs)
- Comply with all procedures for Invoices, Checks, and Timecard approvals
- Elevate problems to Production Accountants when necessary
- Provide Production Accountants with possible solutions to problems presented including proactively identifying possible job efficiencies
- Process billbacks
- Work within the corporate accounting system (Intacct) to book entries and reconciliation
- Consistently, professionally, clearly, concisely, timely, and accurately communicate with Production Accountants, Vendors, Casting, Human Resources, Payroll, and Production employees
- Collaborate with Skydance Animation Finance team on ad hoc assignments
- Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll data
Qualifications
- 5 years of payroll accounting experience
- Experience with Entertainment Partners (system)
- Comfortable working in Excel and EP Smart Accounting
- Knowledge of animation process and/or animation industry experience
- Working knowledge of union pay requirements (e.g., Local 839, Local 700, SAG)
- Highly organized, flexible, team player
- Strong communication skills

The range for this non-exempt position in Santa Monica, CA is $33.65hr - $50hr. The rate offered may vary based on the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience and relevant expertise, among other factors. The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonus, benefits, etc.
