Lead monetization strategy for new game studio. 5+ years experience in F2P games. Proven track record in live operations. Strong analytical and data-driven skills. Experience with in-game economies and player spending behavior.

Red Rover Interactive is an exciting new game development studio founded by industry veterans from renowned companies such as Funcom, Lockwood Publishing, Bohemia Interactive, Ubisoft Reflections, and more. We're on a mission to reimagine the multiplayer gaming landscape, with an emphasis on crafting groundbreaking survival experiences that champion player agency and drama.

As the Monetization Director at Red Rover Interactive, you will lead the development and execution of the monetization strategies for our games. You will collaborate with key stakeholders across the product, design, and marketing teams to optimize in-game purchases, virtual economies, and other revenue-generating features. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both free-to-play (F2P) and premium game models, possess strong data-driven decision-making skills, and have a passion for finding the balance between player satisfaction and business goals.

  • Develop and execute monetization strategies across our game titles to maximise revenue while preserving an excellent player experience.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of in-game economies, including virtual currency, items, and other purchasable content, ensuring balance and fairness.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand the cost of content production and optimise ROI of monetization initiatives, including the impact of time to market, opportunity cost and lifetime value to user.
  • Drive the planning and execution of live operations, including sales, events, and promotions, to boost player engagement and increase in-game spending.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators such as ARPU, LTV, retention, and conversion rates to identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Utilize A/B testing, data analysis, and player feedback to iterate and improve monetization strategies.
  • Ensure a seamless and enjoyable player journey by integrating monetization mechanics in a non-disruptive manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, player behaviour, and competitor strategies to identify new monetization opportunities and best practices.
  • Establish strong relationships with marketing, community, and player support teams to communicate monetization goals and align cross-functional efforts.

We are looking for someone who:

  • 5+ years of experience in monetization, live operations, or product management within the gaming industry, preferably with F2P models.
  • Proven track record of successful monetization strategy development and implementation for live games or interactive entertainment platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and analytics tools to model in-game economies and track performance metrics.
  • Experience with A/B testing and other methodologies for iterating on monetization features.
  • Knowledge of virtual economies, in-game currencies, and the psychology behind player spending behaviour.
  • Must have a deep understanding of effective and current monetization strategies used in both the multiplayer and survival spaces.

In addition, we expect you to:

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights to diverse audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with design, development, and marketing teams.
  • Ability to balance business goals with player satisfaction and community sentiment.
