Summary

This temporary (1-year) Pre-si Power and Performance System Validation Engineer position in Guadalajara, Mexico, involves developing, optimizing, and automating power, thermal, and performance validation testing tools and methodologies. Responsibilities include incorporating end-to-end validation content, writing automation scripts (C/C++, Python), utilizing data analysis methods, defining and optimizing validation automation tools, debugging platform/firmware/software/SoC issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams (architecture, design, verification, software, firmware), and implementing validation test automation. The role requires strong problem-solving, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 1+ years VLSI logic design (Verilog, VHDL)
  • 1+ years experience in Computer Architecture and SoC
  • 1+ years testing & content development in C/C++, Python
  • Intermediate to advanced English
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in related field
  • Experience with Verification
  • Power and Performance Analysis
  • Knowledge of DL/ML AI frameworks
  • Experience in Power Estimation, Analytics and Parametric
  • Experience with modern CPU architecture

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Develops, enables, and continuously optimizes power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization testing tools and methodologies.
  • Incorporates end-to-end content for power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization, writes automation scripts to automate executing such content utilizing automation and data collection, visualization, and data mining and analysis methods to characterize and optimize the product for power, thermal, and performance.
  • Defines and optimizes validation automation tools and scripts to establish functional health of hardware both under nominal and technology node process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) conditions and increase the execution efficiency and pathfinding insights for the validation and optimization team.
  • Improves validation and testing software quality through innovations in processes, tools, automation, and data management.
  • Participates in debugging processes to identify root cause of the platform, firmware, software, and SoC issues.
  • Collaborates with architecture, design, verification, software, firmware, and power, thermal, and performance teams to understand configuration requirements, deliver programming specifications to software teams, and ensure correct system software configuration of hardware.
  • Implement scripts to automate validation test.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Computer engineering, Computer Science or other science/engineering related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in VLSI logic design using languages like Verilog, VHDL and HDL language.
  • 1+ years of experience in Computer Architecture and SoC system knowledge and Experience on memory, cache hierarchy and fabric interconnects.
  • 1+ years of experience in testing and tests content development for power and performance verification in C/C++, Python.
  • Intermediate to advanced English Level.
  • Must have permanent-unrestricted right to work in Mexico.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other science/engineering related field.
  • Advanced understanding software implications on power and performance Experience with Verification.
  • System on Chips (SOCs), Power and Performance Analysis.
  • Knowledge of DL/ML AI Artificial intelligence frameworks. Tools and Industry standard workloads.
  • Experience in Power Estimation, Analytics and Parametric.
  • Experience in the use of EDA tools for driving power projection debug across multiple workloads and scenarios.
  • Experience with modern CPU architecture.
  • Experience with Microprocessor or Chipset design methods.
  • Knowledge of Android OS, or Linux OS, or Windows OS.
  • Experience with IO systems PCIe, USB or DDR.
