Job Description

NXP is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead and coordinate ROM and Firmware (FW) development projects. The role requires a strong background in software engineering, excellent stakeholder management, and a hands-on approach to project tracking and team collaboration, ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders across engineering, product management, quality assurance, and operations.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations; monitor milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Prepare and present regular status updates, dashboards, and reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in managing firmware or embedded software projects.
  • Strong understanding of ROM/FW development lifecycle and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project).

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Engineering Project Manager to lead and coordinate ROM and Firmware (FW) development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a hands-on approach to daily project tracking and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Manage end-to-end delivery of ROM and FW projects, ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives.
  • Daily Tracking: Drive daily progress tracking, issue resolution, and team coordination to maintain project momentum.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders across engineering, product management, quality assurance, and operations to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations. Monitor milestones and deliverables.
  • Risk Management: Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular status updates, dashboards, and reports to leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in managing firmware or embedded software projects.
  • Strong understanding of ROM/FW development lifecycle and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Familiarity with hardware-software integration projects.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.

Please note: The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks. The assignment may/will be in scope of security certifications, therefore a conscious and reliable way of working is necessary.
