Project Manager for Watercourse and Wetland Projects

Job Description

Bring your passion for nature and watercourses into play, when you, in collaboration with colleagues and clients, restore our hard-pressed watercourses and improve living conditions for flora and fauna. Rambøll's portfolio is full of exciting low-lying, watercourse, and wetland projects, and we are therefore looking for an experienced project manager with good skills in customer contact, hydraulic modeling of watercourses, and who has solid knowledge of various GIS tools. You will be part of a strong cross-geographical team, and a driving force in building and developing a new watercourse team in Jutland with the possibility of taking on a team leader position in the future.

Your new role – make a difference every day

At Rambøll, you will deliver future-proof and sustainable solutions to municipalities, agencies, utilities, authorities, and private clients. You will play a central role in exciting projects, where your most important tasks will be:

  • Project management of exciting low-lying, wetland, and watercourse projects
  • Experience with project design in connection with low-lying, watercourse, and wetland projects
  • Contribute to the development of a new watercourse team in Aarhus
  • Collaborate and share knowledge with a dynamic network of professionals and project managers.
  • Ensure collaboration and coordination across Rambøll as part of our watercourse team

Your new team – a strong community

You will become part of our department for Utilities and Climate Adaptation in Jutland, where we are almost 50 engaged colleagues with different backgrounds and expertise. We work closely together from project idea to completion – and we have fun along the way. We emphasize professional development, innovation, and sustainability, while also maintaining the social community.

The watercourse team works across the country and as our new project manager in Jutland, you will work closely with our experienced watercourse team in Odense. The watercourse team works with advising municipalities and the State in connection with the establishment of low-lying projects, wetland projects, and the implementation of watercourse initiatives under the EU Water Framework Directive. With a special focus on ensuring free fauna passage in watercourses, we have, for example, recently advised municipalities in connection with fauna passages at a number of dams in Varde Å, and in collaboration with Aabenraa Municipality, we have established free passage in Sønderåen at St. Jyndevad.

About you – more than just an expert

From day one, we support your development, both professionally and personally. We imagine that you:

  • Have a relevant education as an engineer, natural geographer, biologist or similar with at least 5 years of experience with low-lying, watercourse, and wetland projects. Experience gained either as a consultant or project manager/case worker in the public sector.
  • Possess a good understanding of hydraulic modeling
  • Have experience with the design of fauna passages in watercourses, low-lying, and wetlands.
  • Contribute to our competent team of nature and watercourse personnel across Rambøll.
  • Contribute to task solutions for climate projects.
  • Are familiar with tools such as GIS, VASP, FME, MIKE Hydro, and Scalgo.
  • Have experience and/or interest in preparing and contributing to reports for preliminary studies and detailed projects.
  • Will take responsibility for project management and coordination of tasks in a new watercourse team in Aarhus
  • Have a broad understanding of climate adaptation and the drainage area.
  • Speak and write fluent Danish and English.

Your personality is at least as important as your professional qualifications. We are looking for you who:

  • Will actively contribute to improving nature and wish to give a better nature to your descendants than the one you received.
  • Are passionate about understanding customer needs and creating solutions in collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Take pride in high quality and structure in your work.
  • Are curious, a strong team player, and a good communicator.

What we can offer you – a job that matches your life

  • Be valued for the unique person you are.
  • Great inspiration from colleagues, customers, and projects.
  • Development and career opportunities at Rambøll.
  • Flexitime and possibility to work from home.
  • Professional challenges and the best colleagues
  • Private health insurance and life insurance.
