Summary

As a Regulatory and Litigation Senior Counsel, Competition, you will lead the strategy for defending the company in responses to governments and regulators. Responsibilities include defining defense strategies, conducting investigations, collecting and reviewing information, and representing the company in engagements. You will lead responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, litigation, enforcement actions, and overlapping civil matters, overseeing information collection and production for external submissions and disclosures. The role also involves providing legal advice on government and regulatory audits and exams. This requires at least 10 years of experience in legal, regulatory, and litigation matters, including experience with regulators such as State AGs, FTC, DOJ, and global data protection or consumer protection authorities.
Must have:
  • JD, LL.B., or equivalent
  • 10+ years legal/regulatory/litigation experience
  • Experience with regulators (FTC, DOJ, etc.)
  • Lead responses to regulatory inquiries
  • Oversee information collection and production
  • Provide legal advice on audits and exams
Good to have:
  • Experience with public company boards
  • Experience with technology companies
  • Program development for legal compliance
  • Managing projects and cross-functional teams

Minimum qualifications:

  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with legal, regulatory, and litigation matters, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
  • 10 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience engaging with regulators, including States AG, FTC, DOJ, and global data protection or consumer protection authorities.
  • Experience developing, evaluating, and maintaining programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.
  • Experience with managing projects and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with public company boards and their counsel, including special committees and audit committees.
  • Experience working with technology companies and ability to understand complex technical issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to be action-oriented and seek to meet the highest standards of integrity.
