Research Manager

About the Role

As a Research Manager, you will work closely with clients, developing and managing client accounts and running diverse projects (including PR, advertising, brand health and tracking, customer experience, and new product development) alongside your team.

Main Responsibilities

• Project management: coordinate and manage complex projects independently or as part of a team. Work with an Associate Research Director and your team of 1-2 Research Executives on project plans, resources, reporting, and other deliverables, and problem-solving along the way.
  
  
• Staff management: Manage 1-2 Research Executives, coaching and mentoring them through key aspects of their projects, including questionnaire design, working with internal teams (for scripting, fieldwork, data processing, reporting), analysis, and report writing, and overall client and project management. You’ll be the key member to lead the entire research process from project set-up to delivery.
  
  
• Work effectively and collaboratively with operational teams in YouGov’s Centre of Excellence (CENX) to ensure efficient fieldwork management and data processing.
  
  
• Account Management: Working together with an Associate Research Director on account management to understand client needs, advocate the best research practices, and provide relevant and useful insights from research.
  
  
• Proposal writing: prepare quotations and proposals in response to research briefs, either from your existing clients or briefs that come in via the new business development team.
  
  
• Data analysis and reporting: Analyse research results to identify key insights and demographic trends. Prepare clear, accurate, and compelling reports.
  
  
• Proactively identify ways to improve the efficiency of operations and service delivery to ensure high-quality outputs can be sustainably delivered within the research team.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Advanced analytical and numerical skills.
• Solid understanding of research design, online research methodologies, sampling, questionnaire design, quotas and weighting, and significance testing
• At least 5 years of market research experience in an agency.
• Excellent written, oral, and electronic communication skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Sciences, or Business/Commerce will be highly regarded.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
