Job Summary

The Resident Technical Officer (Civil & Structural) will supervise timely execution of works, maintain quality control, and ensure adherence to contract specifications and drawings under the Building Control Act. Key responsibilities include checking drawings, materials, and construction tests. Candidates must possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering, be a Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES/ACES, and have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in diaphragm wall construction, deep excavation, cut-and-cover tunnels, drainage, pavement, taxiways, and runways.

Must Have

  • Perform all roles and responsibilities of site supervisors under the Building Control Act.
  • Supervise timely execution of works and maintain quality control.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with contract specifications, drawings, and timeframe.
  • Check all drawings and specifications for discrepancies.
  • Check shop drawings, as-built drawings, and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
  • Check quality of materials and samples delivered to site.
  • Ensure required construction tests are carried out.
  • Possess Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES.
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience as a RTO.
  • At least 5 years experience in diaphragm wall construction, deep excavation, cut-and-cover tunnels, drainage, pavement, taxiways and runways.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • To perform all roles and responsibilities required of site supervisors under the Building Control Act.
  • To supervise the timely execution of the works and maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract specifications, drawings, allocated timeframe, all other contract documents, and site instructions.
  • To check all drawings and specifications to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the approved plans for discrepancies and report to the Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person as stated below:
  • Check shop drawings submitted by contractor.
  • Check as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manual submitted by contractor.
  • To check on quality of materials and samples delivered to site and report to Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person on any materials that are not conforming to the specifications.
  • To check mock-ups done on site, where necessary.
  • To ensure that the required construction tests in connection with the construction works are carried out where necessary.

Qualifications

  • Possess Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES.
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience as a RTO, of which at least 5 years shall be in supervision of works similar in nature to the Works, involving diaphragm wall construction, deep excavation, cut-and-cover tunnels, drainage, pavement, taxiways and runways.
