NVIDIA seeks a Senior Compiler Engineer to design and maintain the Deep Learning Accelerator (DLA) compiler for next-generation hardware. Responsibilities include developing advanced optimization techniques for neural networks, collaborating with hardware architecture teams, and designing performance and precision modeling. The role involves working on the entire DLA software stack, from user-mode drivers to firmware, supporting applications like self-driving cars and smart embedded systems. Strong C/C++ programming skills and experience with deep learning software packages (ONNX, PyTorch, TensorFlow) are essential.
Must have:
  • 7+ years experience in deep learning or compiler software projects
  • Strong C and C++ programming skills
  • Experience designing and maintaining complex software stacks
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/EE or related field
Good to have:
  • Experience with ONNX, PyTorch, and TensorFlow
  • Driver programming for HW acceleration engines
  • Software verification test plan design and implementation

Job Details

We are searching for an extraordinary Sr. Compiler Engineer for an exciting and fun role in our Deep Learning Accelerator (DLA/NPU) team. Our team is responsible for the DLA compiler toolchain stack as well as the end-to-end DLA system sw stack including user mode drivers, kernel mode drivers, and the firmware. DLA supports a growing range of deep-learning use-cases, ranging from self-driving cars, smart embedded systems, video game frameworks, and content creation.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and maintain the Deep Learning Accelerator compiler for next generation NVIDIA hardware

  • Develop advanced techniques for optimizing neural networks

  • Collaborate with members of hardware architecture teams

  • Design and maintain performance and precision modeling

What we need to see:

  • You should have a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 7+ years of experience developing and leading complex deep learning or compiler software projects

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills with a capability to achieve objectives under tight deadlines

  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex software stacks

  • Need to demonstrate strong C and C++ programming skills with experience working with large codebases

  • Strong time-management and organization skills for coordinating multiple initiatives, priorities and implementations of new technology and products into very complex projects

  • You will have strong teamwork, interpersonal, and problem solving skills

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with deep learning software packages, such as ONNX, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.

  • Designing and implementing drivers programming rich HW acceleration engines and software verification testplans.

The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 356,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
