As a Senior Maintenance Work Package Manager at Thales, you will lead and manage bids, work packages, and projects within Above Water Systems operations. This role involves leading a team of Work Package Managers and Trade Superintendents, optimizing resource allocation, conducting gate reviews, and reporting on key metrics like HSE, Quality, Schedule, and Budgets. You will also manage project risks, coordinate with suppliers, and mentor team members, contributing to continuous improvement and future capability. Candidates should have relevant tertiary qualifications, experience in project management, intermediate computer skills, proven leadership, strong analytical abilities, and a customer-centric background.

Must Have

  • Lead and manage allocated bids, work packages, and projects.
  • Lead and manage a team of Work Package Managers and Trade Superintendents.
  • Engage transversally across functional areas to optimise resource allocation.
  • Organise and conduct various Gate Reviews and regular reporting.
  • Maintain high communication with stakeholders.
  • Efficiently manage project risks and seize business opportunities.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage bid and project schedules.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications from either a trade or technical background.
  • Experience in a similar Bids or Project Management role.
  • Intermediate computer skills with experience in utilising complex Work Breakdown Structures.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing diverse teams.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills.
  • Well-developed analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in utilising and reporting on complex data.
  • Strong customer centric background.

  • A background across a similar commercial and/or Defence organisation or environment.
  • Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., Project Management).

About Your Role

As a Senior Maintenance Work Package Manager, you will enjoy an exciting new career opportunity as you lead and manage allocated bids, work packages and/or projects in support of our growing Above Water Systems operations as you work across the wider organisation to think big and make it happen.

Your exciting new career opportunity will see you;

  • Leading and managing a team of Work Package Managers and Trade Superintendents under the AWS Operations PMO management structures
  • Engaging transversally across functional areas to optimise resource allocation for bid activities as you take a strategic view in your ability to proactively manage customer and business requirements
  • Organising and conducting various Gate Reviews and regular reporting and data analysis on key metrics as you maintain a focus on key KPI’s (HSE, Quality, Schedule, Budgets and Baseline)
  • Maintaining a high level of communication with all relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain effective working relationships across a diverse group of internal and external parties
  • Enriching customer experience and achieving sustainable outcomes as you efficiently manage project risks, while also seizing business opportunities
  • Preparing, monitoring and managing bid and project schedules, which will include; budget, baselines, risks and opportunities
  • Actively participating in various continuous improvement activities, within an organisation that is committed to quality outcomes
  • Coordinating and negotiating input from suppliers, partners and both domestic and international subcontractors
  • Guiding, coaching and providing direct support to other team members and other young professionals as you make your mark and contribute to future capability

How About You?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications from either a trade or technical background, coupled with experience in a similar Bids or Project Management role
  • Intermediate computer skills with experience in utilising complex Work Breakdown Structures
  • Proven leadership experience in managing diverse teams, which will also utilise your well-developed interpersonal communication skills
  • Well-developed analytical skills and proven experience in utilising and reporting on complex data
  • Strong customer centric background, proven in achieving key business objectives and/or related KPI’s
  • A background across a similar commercial and/or Defence organisation or environment would be viewed favourably
  • Those with postgraduate qualifications will be viewed favourably (e.g. Project Management)
