PwC Luxembourg is hiring a (Senior) Manager (m/f/d) in Actuarial and Risk Modelling Services (ARMS). What if it was you?

PwC Actuarial and Risk Modelling Services (ARMS) team in Luxembourg is looking for a (Senior) Manager with life insurance background to join our local actuarial practice of 15+ people, the largest actuarial consulting team in Luxembourg. In our dynamic / diverse team, you will work on complex problems and challenges related to Reserving, Reporting, Risk or Capital projects across the Luxembourg market and broader European market, as well as multidisciplinary projects around areas such as Mergers and Acquisitions, Transfer Pricing, Insurance Modernization and Captives.
Your mission : You will work in ARMS team on life insurance projects, with co-workers from different teams with diverse backgrounds, to give our clients the best possible solutions. Dependent on the project you will either manage the project or do the analytical work yourself.
Be a part of our team where you will:
Provide actuarial support to our audit practice in respect of Luxembourg-based insurers, reinsurers and captive insurance companies;
Provide actuarial consulting services including reserves review, reporting, risk and capital modelling and other actuarial projects;
Provide support in M&A and due-diligence projects;
Design and model emerging risks such as climate risk, transition risk or regulatory risk;
Assist in the continued growth and development PwC’s actuarial practice;
Do quantitative consulting with R, Python or other programming languages;
Supervise and coach junior actuarial staff;
Manage the consulting projects: hold the responsibility for the planning, deadlines, project team composition, communication with the external and internal clients, final deliverables.

A qualification or being nearly qualified Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (or equivalent actuarial associations in European countries);
Educational background: Actuary, Financial Engineer, Data Scientist;
At least 6 years of experience in Reserving, Assets and Liabilities Modelling, Capital or Risk modelling in life insurance. Or equivalently, you have background either as a recognized insurance consultant;
Good understanding of standard life actuarial practice across the mentioned areas in at least one of Luxembourg GAAP, Solvency II and IFRS17;
Wider commercial awareness and understanding of business and regulatory issues facing the insurance industry in EU;
You like to work in a practical and creative manner by constantly analysing and solving new challenges. You can effectively convey complex issues into clear and easy-to-understand oral or written presentations. You inspire and maintain clients due to your advising abilities;
You have the capacity to deal with a wide diversity of situations, to build meaningful overviews as well as performing deep dives on technical matters;
A good command of the English language. French language is considered as an advantage;
Proficiency in one of life software such as Prophet and one of the programming languages – VBA, SAS, R, Python. Any equivalent proficiency will be considered.
