Activision Central Tech works to support our development studios and their titles. Comprised of seven main teams, we have many specialties including big data, privacy and security, motion capture and animation pipeline technologies, graphics, build and infrastructure for studio development and data centers, optimization, systems programming, and online services including matchmaking and networking. Central Tech is distributed globally with offices across the U.S., and in Canada, England, Ireland, and Japan.

Most of our teams are comprised of both engineering and research talent, allowing us to always have an eye on the future. Our talented engineers help with title development and provide valuable knowledge sharing between studios while our researchers are action-oriented and keep a strong connection with the needs of the game studios.

Your Mission

Activision is searching for a Senior Engineer to join its Central Tech group based in Manchester. This is a full-time permanent position, learning and working in a friendly and inclusive environment alongside some of the best game creators in the world. You will help us craft the next generation of the massively successful Call of Duty® series of games.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:   

• Architect, implement, optimize, and support the asset pipeline to compile and convert our raw assets to efficient game ready formats.
• Work on efficiency, performance, and stability of the asset pipeline, to help empower our content creators.
• Work across the entire Call of Duty® content pipeline, from asset editors to converters and into the game engine.
• Work with team leaders and other teams to achieve the game’s feature and performance goals.

Player Profile

Knowledge & Skills

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years' experience working as a C++ engineer in the game industry or a related field.
• Industry-leading expertise in game asset processing pipelines
• Proven track record of shipping high quality code
