Google Cloud AI is seeking a Software Engineer III with expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP). Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, participating in design reviews, contributing to documentation, debugging system issues, and working on projects critical to Google's needs. The role requires experience with software development (2+ years), data structures/algorithms (2+ years), NLP, and deep learning techniques applied to large datasets for content understanding, summarization, generation, and prediction. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related field and experience in complex organizational settings. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • Experience processing and understanding natural language and large language models. Experience with algorithms that uses deep learning techniques and large data sets to understand, summarize, generate, and predict new content.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
