This role involves developing advanced algorithms and software systems for improving the Pixel camera's color photography, specifically focusing on auto white balance and color quality. Responsibilities include developing AI/ML algorithms, collaborating with camera software and hardware teams, and launching research projects to directly impact Pixel phone users. The ideal candidate possesses strong C++ and Python skills, along with experience in image processing, machine learning, and computational photography. Experience with auto white balance algorithm development is highly preferred. The position contributes to Google's Pixel team, dedicated to designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience.
Must have:
  • C++ and Python experience

Good to have:
  • Master's or PhD in relevant field
  • Machine learning auto white balance experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with C++ and Python.
  • 2 years of experience in Image processing, Machine Learning (ML) or computational photography.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in auto white balance algorithm development.
  • 2 years of Machine Learning auto white balance experience.

  • Work on software development for Pixel Camera Auto White Balance and Color algorithms.
  • Develop advanced Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) algorithms to improve camera auto white balance and color quality.
  • Collaborate with camera software, and hardware teams inside and outside for Pixel camera product development.
