Job Description

This Backend Software Engineer role at Google focuses on Insights, Benchmarks, and Narratives. Responsibilities include writing product/system development code, participating in design reviews, code reviews, contributing to documentation, and troubleshooting system issues. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (Master's/PhD preferred) and 2+ years of experience with data structures, algorithms, and standard Google systems/libraries. Proficiency in C/C++, C#, Java, Python, or Go is required. Experience with accessible technologies, data analytics, A/B testing, and Google Ad products are preferred. The role involves working on projects critical to Google's needs, requiring versatility and leadership qualities.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
Experience with standard Google systems/libraries
Proficiency in C/C++, C#, Java, Python, or Go
Code writing and review
Debugging and issue resolution

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in Computer Science
Experience with accessible technologies
Data analytics or A/B testing experience
Knowledge of Google Ad products

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Experience with standard Google systems/libraries.
Experience with software development in C/C++, C#, Java, Python or Go.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience with data analytics or online experimentation via A/B testing.
Knowledge of the Google Ad products.

Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product or program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug, track or resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network or service operations and quality.
