Tesla seeks a Vehicle Readiness Specialist in Southport to ensure all vehicles are in perfect condition for customer delivery. Responsibilities include inspecting and performing functional checks on Tesla vehicles according to company standards, operating various hand and power tools, maintaining records, ordering supplies, maintaining shop cleanliness, and supporting technicians. The ideal candidate is technical, detail-oriented, communicates effectively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Prior PDI experience and strong vehicle maintenance knowledge are preferred. This role demands flexibility and adaptability within a dynamic organizational setting.

What to Expect

Tesla is looking for a motivated Vehicle Readiness Specialist to work on one of the most progressive vehicle brands in the world. 

In this position, you will be part of Tesla’s Vehicle Readiness Specialist Team. The team comes into action straight after our cars have arrived from the factory. It all starts with the inspection of the car, administrative follow-up and preparation of the vehicle for delivery. Everything is done with the team’s goal in mind, which is to ensure that all Tesla vehicles are in perfect shape to be handed over to the owner of the car - our highly- valued customer. 

This position requires cooperation with other departments within Tesla, therefore the ideal candidate will possess both the technical acumen and the ability to communicate with all levels within and outside the organization. 

What You’ll Do
  • Performing inspection, and functional checks of Tesla vehicles in accordance to Tesla standards 
  • Safely operate a variety of hand, power, and workshop tools 
  • Perform equipment inspections, and adjustments as necessary 
  • Maintain records of time, expenses and materials 
  • Order shop supplies and parts 
  • Help maintain cleanliness of shop floor 
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines 
  • Support technicians in other parts of the business where needed
What You’ll Bring
  • The ideal candidate is technical, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to pro-actively communicate with all employees and works well in a fast-paced environment 
  • PDI related experience preferred 
  • Experience with methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles 
  • Experience with operating and maintenance of a wide variety of hand, power and shop tools 
  • Experience with vehicle test equipment and ability to follow diagnostic processes an advantage 
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders, this includes third parties 
  • Maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance as a Vehicle Readiness Specialist   
  • Flexibility towards a fast-changing environment and processes 
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills 
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and insurable 
  • The responsibilities of this position may change over time – this role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization
