The Workplace Experience Specialist is responsible for making the Canva experience magical and inspiring, contributing to Canva being the best place to work. This role involves program management, administration, communication, and relationship building. Key responsibilities include developing cultural programs and policies, managing internal office dashboards, creating and facilitating events, coordinating onboarding, overseeing guest services, and acting as a cultural ambassador. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to prioritize, problem-solving abilities, and a customer service mindset.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a campus in Austin, Texas which is now home to our US operations. You have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

 

About the Role

The Workplace Experience Specialist has a mission to make the Canva experience magical and inspiring and contributes to making Canva the best place to work. You'll contribute to/building/leading Workplace Experience, setting up and running the related facilities and vibe programming in your designated campus or hub, or for your Canvanaut demographic group.

What you’d be doing in this role

 

Using your experience with program management, administration, communication and relationship building, and your global mindset and creativity in finding engaging ways to deliver, you'll work cross functionally with teams and working groups to deliver all or some of the following:

Engagement & Culture

  • Expand on existing and develop new cultural programs and policies that can provide the biggest impact on our employees and guests from hospitality, events and employee engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders within your remit.
  • Fun, informative and clear communications with your Canvanaut team, as well as input of our Canvazines.
  • Manage and maintain internal office dashboards

Vibe & Activations

  • Create, manage and facilitate inspiring events and social activations
  • Manage and assist with bump in and out for all events
  • Coordinate onboarding experience for newbies
  • Communal Table - organise food & beverage offering for team lunches or events (in partnership with Hospo-X team)
  • Work with Global WPX Team to curate fun and engaging hybrid and remote friendly events
  • Oversee budget for WPX/Vibe programs for the Austin Campus

Guest Services

  • Own the strategy and experience of front desk operations—ensuring that every guest and Canvanaut is greeted with warmth, efficiency, and consistency. While you won’t be staffing the desk, you’ll oversee the service standards, workflows, and collaboration with the receptionist to deliver a world-class welcome experience.
  • Act as a cultural ambassador, championing Canva’s values and fostering a sense of belonging through every touchpoint.
  • Collaborate with the broader Vibe and Workplace Experience team to ensure experiences are locally relevant yet aligned with Canva’s global philosophy.
  • Continuously elevate the workplace experience by being proactive, observant, and intentional—refining programs and touchpoints that shape day-to-day life in the campus or hub.

  • Be an ambassador for Canva’s culture in bringing good vibes to the Canva team and evangelising Canva Vibe. 
  • Creative and quirky ideas to execution - ability to bring a fresh way to old things.
  • Ability to pivot quickly and be flexible to change
  • Highly equipped with verbal and written communication 
  • Demonstrate versatility in setting priorities, planning and organize tasks
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow through with incoming tasks and jobs
  • A problem solver, willing to look at processes from outside the box and constantly looking for ways to innovate and streamline processes as we scale. 
  • You will have a hospitality and customer service mindset - with a desire to host, build relationships, create beautiful environments and experiences for your guests.  
  • You are collaborative - This role involves working with numerous teams to provide support in different areas all across the offices and as such requires high levels of communication and the ability to work cohesively as a team. 
  • Prioritization comes naturally to you. You can see what needs to be done and weigh what is ultimately most important at that moment.
