ByteDance seeks a Director - Edge Cloud Infrastructure to lead their Global Edge Cloud team. This role involves managing a team of engineers, driving product and technology innovation, and building robust edge cloud services for TikTok and B2B clients. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large engineering teams, deploying infrastructure systems, and a passion for solving complex problems. This position is based in San Jose, Seattle, or Boston.
Must have:

In line with our commitment to excellence, we are looking for a senior engineering manager as the team leader to lead the ByteDance Global Edge Cloud Product Technology and Solution Team and build competitive edge cloud computing services for TikTok and ToB clients, accelerate product and technology innovation, improve the influence of edge cloud products and technology and ultimately improve customer satisfaction. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you'll lead a group of software/system engineers. You'll provide technical leadership, build a robust team, and establish efficient processes, all the while focusing on top-quality engineering. Regular interaction with other teams and our users will be a key part of your role. Responsibilities - Be both a highly technical, and an effective people manager. Being able to lead the team to achieve breakthroughs and guide team members to improve their abilities; - Be a subject matter expert in at least one specific domain (examples: product, infrastructure, cloud computing.). Participate in technical design and drive roadmap creation and execution. - Work effectively with cross functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes. - Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals. Partner with leadership to influence and drive organization design, contribution and prioritization.
Qualifications
Mininum Qualifications - Experience in leading a large engineering team. - Experience in developing and deploying large scale infrastructure systems. - Strong sense of responsibility and good at communication and teamwork. - Passionate about solving complex and challenging problems. Preferred Qualifications - BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. - Management experience with technical teams, or experience as a technical lead or project manager - Designing and developing large-scale Internet service architectures, distributed systems, storage systems or edge infrastructure - Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems in large-scale systems,Scaling high performance, high throughput systemsque perspectives. Job Information
【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $230000 - $448000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

We cover 100% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, approximately 75% premium coverage for dependents and offer a Health Savings Account(HSA) with a company match. In addition to Flexible Spending Account(FSA) Options like Health Care, Limited Purpose and Dependent Care.

Our time off and leave plans are: 10 paid holidays per year plus 17 days of Paid Personal Time Off (PPTO) (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure) and 10 paid sick days per year as well as 12 weeks of paid Parental leave and 8 weeks of paid Supplemental Disability.
