A Brief Overview

The Game Presentation Specialist & Mascot is responsible for the creation of the mascot program and development of all related content for programs, appearances, and social media.

What you will do

  • Lead performer as the LA Kings Mascot at majority of pre-season, regular season, and playoff home games. This includes pre-game and post-game activities, community, sponsorship, and promotional events. Additionally, represent the LA Kings at NHL league events throughout the season such as Frozen Fury, All-Star weekend, Mascot Conference, and any out-of-town travel that may be requested.
  • Oversee and manage part time mascots and schedule appearances, game days, and game day promotions/activities related to the mascot program.
  • Lead and actively promote programs which keep Bailey visible in the community and generate revenue (i.e., external appearances, game day seat visits, birthday parties, holiday deliveries, etc.) by researching and developing events around our home games to bring these programs to life. Develop new opportunities outside of the Kings annual events to further make a presence and represent the Kings brand and community programs.
  • Spend time with each department leader to understand the needs of each department in relation to the Bailey brand. Research and fact finding to help the continue the evolution of the mascot's rebranding, personality, style, mannerisms, rituals, and traditions.
  • Develop a detail-oriented brand identity guide including a toolkit of creative assets to ensure consistencies within the marketing campaigns, sponsorships and live performances.
  • Conceptualize and produce video content creation for in-game use, web, and all social media channels. Oversee social media content and execute day-to-day presence on all channels including the LA Kings official website.
  • Ideate talent, props and scripts to develop family-friendly skits and crowd interactions in arena for the mascot. Partner closely with Director, Game Presentations to ensure scripts are timely and align with game theme, heritage nights and holidays in order continue the mascot presence and re-brand.
  • Source vendors and establish a good working relationship to ensure proper maintenance of mascot costume and oversee the management of inventory of costume items, accessories, props, and signage. Additionally, ensure the Bailey mobile is in legal, proper working condition and equipped with insurance documents.
  • Evaluate and improve Bailey's Buddies program, by evaluating current state, researching similar programs within the industry and modernizing the program, which is a key fundraising asset for the King's Care Foundation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to partners, vendors, and fans. Maintain relationship with fans by engaging via mail and any needs pertaining to autographs and gifting.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred)

Experience Qualifications

  • 4-6 years Professional mascot experience required

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to perform duties such as jumping, dancing, running etc. in a full body mascot costume on a regular basis
  • Intermediate/advanced level of ice-skating ability is preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Basic knowledge of hockey is required
  • Must be able to fit the current mascot costume currently sized at a 5'7"-5'10" height comfortably
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong on-camera presence
  • Ability to operate an ATV, electric scooter, and other company vehicles
  • Knowledge of all social media channels including Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, and Facebook
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Stunting, acting, dancing, gymnastics, and crowd leading experience is a plus
  • Experience in video production and content creation including photography and video editing are strongly desired.
  • Ability to conduct themselves professional in an office setting and communicate effectively with organization leadership

Pay Scale: $67,000-$75,000

AEG reserves the right to change or modify the employee's job description whether orally or in writing, at any time during the employment relationship. AEG may require an employee to perform duties outside their normal description.
