Job Description
As a Matte Painting Junior Artist at Skydance Animation, you'll assist the team in creating Digital Matte Paintings (DMPs) and 3D assets. This cross-discipline role requires skills in DMPs, digital painting, modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, and compositing. Responsibilities include creating photorealistic and stylized DMPs by combining photographs, digital paintings, and 3D elements, assisting team members, following supervisor guidance, and staying updated on artistic methodologies and technological trends. The ideal candidate possesses strong artistic and technical aptitude related to 3D animation and 0-2 years of professional experience in VFX or animation.
Must have:
- Create photorealistic and stylized DMPs
- Combine photo-digital paintings-3D elements
- Assist other team members
- Strong artistic/technical aptitude in 3D animation
Good to have:
- Low-medium English level
- Spanish language skills

As a Matte Painting Junior Artist, you will be responsible to assist to the rest of the team in the creation of their DMP’s or their 3D assets. This is a cross-discipline role and requires abilities in DMP, digital painting, modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering and compositing.
Responsibilities
- Creates photo-realistic and stylized DMP’s having knowledge of how to combine photograph-digital paintings-3D elements.
- Assists other team members, when necessary.
- Follows the Supervisor’s and Lead´s guidance.
- Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of professional experience in VFX or animation industries.
- Strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation is a must.
- Low-medium English level desirable.
- Spanish desirable.
