ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
 

World Relief Sacramento seeks a Temporary Resettlement Associate to work as part of the team to carry out resettlement tasks for newly arrived refugees. The Resettlement Associate will help provide core services and ongoing care for refugee families in coordination with World Relief staff, local churches, and the broader community. The position will help families apply for the various reunification programs they are eligible for and will also serve as a point person for local Good Neighbor Teams (GNTs) as they provide core services to refugee families. This position operates within grant-funded programs, requiring specific services to be provided within set timeframes and appropriate documentation of all activities through case management. The role is part of a larger integration team and is responsible for the success of their assigned cases, as determined by the client experience, program outcomes, timeliness and accuracy of reporting, and collaboration with colleagues.    

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    •  Assist in preparing documents for new arrivals and sending information to appropriate agencies 
    •  Connect clients to in-house support and makes referrals to external service providers as necessary to assist clients in achieving self-sufficiency 
    •  Transport and assist clients at Social Security, Department of Human Assistance, Refugee Health Clinic, ESL/employment service providers and any other required or beneficial services   
    • Assist the caseworkers in any assigned tasks to complete core services   
    • Build and maintain relationships with area service providers as a representative of World Relief   
    • Document participant services and activities thoroughly and in a timely manner in accordance with program and World Relief Sacramento requirements   
    • Update and maintain client information in protected, online databases (Dynamics, Teams, etc.) 
    •  Process and file Affidavit Of Relationships (AOR) applications for P-2 & P-3 cases 
    •  Respond to reunification follow ups and communicate with HO staff 
    •  Conduct outreach to the refugee families to inform them about the program 
    •  Participate in HO trainings and stay up to date on Family Reunification programs.   
    • Collaborate with Volunteer & GNT Coordinator to support GNTs with the provision of core services   
    • Achieve grant requirements and deliverables through timely, high-quality services   
    • Participate in on-going training to improve service delivery and ensure compliance   
    • Collaborate successfully across World Relief Sacramento staff and departments, as well as with external service providers to ensure holistic case management   
    • Participate in weekly staff meetings and other meetings as instructed by supervisor 
    •  Other duties as assigned 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study; or equivalent work experience 
    •  Willingness to occasionally provide services outside of normal work hours (evenings and weekends)   
    • Cross-cultural experience   
    • Strong communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English; 
    • Must have access to a reliable, private vehicle and insurance that can be used for local travel and transportation of clients.
