What you need to know about the role-

PayPal is looking for a full-stack software engineer to join our Pricing and FX team.

Meet our team-

The Pricing team is responsible for the services that support fee and foreign exchange (FX) for PayPal’s payments system. Pricing and FX services are at the heart of PayPal's payments engine, processing millions of requests a day.

As part of this team, you will get to work on services used to determine how PayPal prices its various services, and determines FX rates for cross-border payments. These services handle billions of dollars’ worth of TPV every year and are expected to operate at high levels of reliability with low latency.

Your day to day

In your day-to-day role you will

 

  • Design, build and operate scalable solutions at the heart of PayPal
  • Build and take operational responsibility of critical user interfaces used for transacting in millions of dollars a day
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team including product, business stakeholders, back-end engineers and UX to come up with solutions to solve business problems
  • Identify areas of technical improvement and make detailed business cases for improvements or new areas of opportunities

 

What do you need to bring-

  • A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience, with 2-5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of Java tech stacks (Spring, Spring Boot, JPA / Hibernate)
  • Understanding of TDD and unit testing using frameworks like Junit / TestNG
  • Strong front-end engineering skills with hands-on experience on React JS, Javascript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with front-end test frameworks like Jest, Jasmine or Cypress and CI / CD tools is a plus
  • Experience developing RESTful and GraphQL Web Services is a plus
