The Transportation Maintenance Mechanic at Walt Disney World is responsible for maintaining the resort's vehicle fleet. This field service role involves preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across a range of vehicles, from passenger cars to heavy-duty trucks. Work may include elevated platforms and confined spaces. Responsibilities include performing PM inspections, DOT annual inspections, routine repairs, and working with computer controls and various vehicle systems. The role requires a valid Florida CDL Class B license with passenger endorsement and several ASE certifications (A-5 Brakes, A-7 Air Conditioning, T-4 Brakes, and MVAC 609 refrigerant recovery). The position demands physical capability, strong communication skills, and teamwork within a diverse environment.
Must have:
  • Valid FL CDL Class B license with passenger endorsement
  • 4 years GM passenger vehicle experience
  • ASE certifications (A-5, A-7, T-4)
  • MVAC 609 refrigerant recovery certification
  • Knowledge of PM inspections, DOT inspections, repairs
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights
Good to have:
  • Experience maintaining heavy-duty trucks (Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Ford, International, Kenworth)
  • Experience with diesel engines and air brake systems
  • AC Delco training
  • EPA Universal or EPA 608 Type II certification

Job Summary:

The Transportation Maintenance Mech is responsible for the maintenance of the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts fleet of vehicles. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $27.35 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide maintenance support on Company vehicle fleet.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, and planned work repairs on property-wide fleet.
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida CDL Class B driver’s license with passenger endorsement or the ability to acquire Florida CDL class “B” permit by the time of hire.
  • 4 years’ minimum GM experience working within all aspects of passenger vehicles, sports utility, light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Must have or be able to acquire the MVAC 609 refrigerant recovery certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Must have or have the ability to acquire the following ASE certifications within 90 days of hire: A-5 Brakes, A-7 Air Conditioning, and T-4 Brakes.
  • Working background knowledge of PM inspections, DOT Annual inspections, routine repairs, troubleshooting, computer controls, fuel injection systems, anti-lock brakes, emissions system, and hydraulic lift gates.
  • Basic PC skills and ability to work with handheld electronic devices (i.e. radios, iPhones, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Capable of working from ladders and/or elevated platforms.
  • Must be highly motivated and reliable.
  • Must possess strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a productive and diverse team.
  • Shift and day off are to be determined.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience maintaining heavy-duty trucks including: Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Ford, International, and Kenworth.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines and air brake systems.
  • AC Delco training.
  • EPA Universal or EPA 608 Type II.

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
