Job Description

We are seeking a talented UI Engineer to join our Frontend and Metasystems team to develop exciting new features for SUPERVIVE. You will collaborate with designers, artists, and engineers to create engaging in-game experiences. You'll influence technical direction, establish best practices for robust and performant UI, and work with other people's code. This role requires experience building UI in Unreal Engine using C++, Slate, and UMG, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and distributed work environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable wearing many hats, acting on behalf of the player, and values both freedom and responsibility.

Job Details

We're seeking a talented Engineer to join our Frontend and Metasystems team as we develop exciting new features for SUPERVIVE. In this role, you'll work closely with designers, artists, and other engineers to craft exciting in game experiences for our players. You'll influence the technical direction and establish best practices for how we build robust and performant UI across the entire project. If you enjoy working with many different disciplines, working on player facing systems and think ourculture sounds good, we would love to hear from you!


Ideally, you have:

    • Experience building UI in Unreal Engine
    • A track record of cross-discipline collaboration
    • A high level of comfort in other people’s code
    • Experience with C++, Unreal Engine - particularly with Slate and UMG

A key aspect of our compensation philosophy is that value creation should be aligned with rewards. Right now this means that equity is a significant portion of every full-time employee’s compensation and in the future we will look at tools like performance based bonuses and profit sharing. What will always be true is that if we win, we win together. Theorycraft offers competitive base salaries and generous equity packages for full-time employees. As a pre-revenue startup, our base salary range for all roles, including this one, is $80k-$225k. Final base salary will be determined by an array of factors including internal equity, job related knowledge, skills, and work experience. In addition to a competitive base salary and equity, employees at Theorycraft will receive all of our other great benefits and perks, including unlimited, open PTO, health, vision, dental insurance for you and your family, and an annual game budget.

We believe that people on our team should live their best lives while doing their best work (and that these should complement each other!). Therefore we’ve committed to distributed work (within 3 timezones of PST), with regular, in-person meetups to stay connected as a team.
