Job Description

This role involves managing the general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including monthly closing procedures and reporting for US and non-US subsidiaries. Responsibilities include assisting with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury functions, participating in audits, and contributing to accounting system development. The role requires preparing reports, analyzing business results, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Accountant will work with data to provide insights for decision making. They will prepare reports and executive summaries to enable decision-making by the business. They will also perform timely and accurate processing of transactions and maintain vendor relationships, assist with the preparation of documentation for audits, and the investigation and resolution of audit findings.
Must have:
  • 1+ years of Accounting/Finance experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Good to have:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Netsuite experience.
  • Experience with non-US subsidiaries.

Description

This role will be responsible for the general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as specific accounting areas as determined by the Senior Accounting Manager. The Accountant will assist with timely and accurate monthly reporting and closing procedures for our US company as well as non-US based subsidiaries. This role will also assist with Accounts Payable function, Accounts Receivable function, and Treasury functions. Further responsibilities include participation in annual financial and other audits as well as other duties and projects as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform the consolidated monthly close of the general ledger including assisting in the preparation of month end journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis of the US parent and international subsidiaries
  • Maintain balance sheet, P&L and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare analysis to ensure business results are optimized (ie: Headcount, Operating Expenses, etc); Work with multiple data inputs to translate data into information that the business can use for decision making.
  • Prepare reports on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis that enable decision making by the business; highlight important takeaways in concise executive summaries
  • Prepare other ad-hoc modeling to enable business decision-making
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable, including timely and accurate processing of transactions and establishing and maintaining vendor relationships
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable, including timely and accurate reporting, analysis, and reconciliation
  • Assist with annual Audit preparations which includes preparing documentation/memos and investigating and resolving audit findings, discrepancies, and other issues of noncompliance
  • Contribute to the development of accounting systems, internal controls, documentation, and procedures

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
  • 1+ years Accounting/Finance experience, specific to month end close, audit, and general accounting areas.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Netsuite experience preferred
  • Experience with non-US subsidiaries is preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other office tools
  • Self-directed, organized, and able to multi-task
  • Tasks are performed timely and accurately, with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to use hands, and reach with hands and arms
  • Requires the ability to see, listen, and speak

Work Environment

  • Work is generally performed in an open office, sedentary position.
