The AML Risk Governance Specialist at LeoVegas Group is responsible for developing and implementing robust AML policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and safeguarding the organization against financial crimes. Key responsibilities include assisting the Director of AML Risk Governance and MLROs in assessing internal policies, conducting risk assessments and testing, working with operational teams to ensure policy effectiveness, and acting as a central point of contact for AML/CFT issues. The role involves close collaboration with MLROs, monitoring daily operations, responding to authorities, and establishing a risk-based approach to AML and CFT. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role and a bachelor's degree (master's preferred).

ABOUT THE ROLE               
Are you an expert in Anti-Money Laundering with a strong background in risk management and governance? We are looking for a dedicated AML Risk Governance Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust AML policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and safeguarding our organization against financial crimes. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:       

  • Assisting the Director of AML Risk Governance and MLRO’s with continual assessment of AML/CFT internal policies, procedures and guidelines, to identify and mitigate any deficiencies (specifically in relation to the respective markets for which you are assigned, however also more generally covering the AML program of the Group);
  • Working closely with the  MLRO(s) in assessing internal escalations for potential STR submission;
  • Conducting (alongside relevant MLRO’s) regular AML/CFT risk assessments and testing, reporting to the MLRO(s),  Director of AML Risk Governance, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer on a regular basis;
  • Working closely with all operational teams, in particular the AML team, to ensure all policies are working effectively and any gaps are identified, and ensuring appropriate implementation of the AML/CFT program across all relevant jurisdictions;
  • Being a central point (alongside the MLROs) of contact for all information on AML/CFT related issues and liaising with MLROs as appropriate, including provision and updating of Business Risk Assessments;
  • Assist MLRO’s in monitoring the day to day operation of AML and CFT policies, responding to any reasonable request made by competent authorities or law enforcement;
  • Assisting MLROs in reviewing and quality ensuring operational measures taken on accounts to ensure adherences with relevant procedures;
  • Establishing the basis on which a risk-based approach to AML and CFT is put into practice and review the approach on a regular basis together with the MLRO’s and the Director of AML Risk Governance.

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Essential skills:
 
  

  • A minimum of a bachelors degree level qualification in a relevant field, however a masters level degree is preferred;
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a similar role; 
  • Evidential experience of working closely with AML frameworks, 2nd line governance checks and implementing quality assurance measures; 
  • Self-driven approach, ability to engage management and enable risk identification as strategic driver in growth and strategy;
  • Ability to follow through all assigned tasks and projects to completion independently, and also to take direction and also take full ownership of the responsibilities assigned;
  • A high standard of work ethic, always ensuring to complete all assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

Nice to have skills:   

  • Experience working with gaming operator and/or game supplier and/or similar business.
