About the job:
Google's Trust & Safety team is dedicated to creating a safe and secure online experience for all users. As an Analyst, Global Elections Integrity, you'll play a crucial role in protecting the integrity of our products and services by identifying and mitigating threats related to elections. This includes analyzing data, conducting investigations, enforcing policies, and identifying vulnerabilities. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and other teams to proactively combat abuse and fraud, ensuring that users can trust Google to provide a reliable and safe platform.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with data analysis and investigation techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field
  • Experience working with Machine Learning (ML)
  • Experience analyzing ML models performance or working on Large Language Models (LLM)
  • Experience using statistical analysis and hypothesis testing
  • Experience working with abuse, spam, fraud or malware
  • Experience working on product policy analysis and identifying policy risks

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Experience working with Machine Learning (ML).
  • Experience analyzing ML models performance or working on Large Language Models (LLM).
  • Experience using statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
  • Experience working with abuse, spam, fraud or malware.
  • Experience working on product policy analysis and identifying policy risks.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Use investigative and fraud fighting techniques to identify Ads and content that are violating Google's Global Elections Integrity Standards.
  • Perform data analysis to derive insights that help to identify and fight abuse across our products.
  • Enhance our operational workflows via process improvements and identification of automation opportunities.
  • Conduct investigations, enforce our product policies, and identify product vulnerabilities. Occasionally be exposed to disturbing or offensive content during the process.
  • Identify and work with sensitive content or situations and look at graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.
