Job Description

This is an internship for an Animation Actor/Motion Capture role based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The intern will assist in performing movements and expressions for character animation. They will work with animators and directors to create engaging performances, applying various acting styles to different animation projects. The intern will also support the team with reference footage and creative input. This role offers hands-on experience, training in motion capture technology, and exposure to professional animation workflows, providing an opportunity to work with a creative and passionate team.
Must have:
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a related field
  • Strong body awareness and expressive movement skills
  • Interest in animation and character performance
  • Ability to take direction and collaborate with teams
  • Passion for storytelling and bringing characters to life
Good to have:
  • Experience in acting, dance, or stage performance
  • Familiarity with animation principles or motion capture tech
  • Previous experience in theater or improvisation

Job Details

Location : This role is a based in Edinburgh, Scotland. We enncourage only residents based in Edinburgh to apply for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing movements, gestures, and expressions to support character animation.
  • Work with animators and directors to develop engaging and believable performances.
  • Learn and apply different acting styles to match various animation projects.
  • Support the animation team with reference footage, improvisation, and creative input.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in acting, theater, dance, animation, or a related field.
  • Strong body awareness and expressive movement skills.
  • Interest in animation, motion capture, and character performance.
  • Ability to take direction and collaborate with creative teams.
  • Passion for storytelling and bringing characters to life.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

  • Experience in acting, dance, or stage performance.
  • Familiarity with animation principles or motion capture technology.
  • Previous experience in theater, improvisation, or physical performance.
