Job Description

As a Cloud Engineer, Data Analytics at Google, you'll be a technical advisor to clients, resolving complex Big Data challenges. Responsibilities include creating best practices, tutorials, and presentations for various stakeholders. You will guide customers on data ingestion, storage, processing, analysis, and visualization on GCP, working on migrations and designing large-scale data processing systems. You will also work with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Sales, Product Management) to leverage emerging technologies for clients and partners, overseeing technical execution and business operations of Google's online advertising platforms or product partnerships. The role involves significant client interaction, travel (40%), and the development of innovative solutions.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in CS/related field or equivalent experience
3+ years experience with data processing software (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, Go, or JavaScript
Experience managing client-facing projects and troubleshooting
Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers

Good to have:

Professional Cloud certification (GCP/Databricks)
Experience with data warehouses, ETL/ELT, and reporting tools
Technical consulting experience
Big Data, information retrieval, data mining, or machine learning experience
Experience building multi-tier high availability applications

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience with data processing software (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive) and algorithms (e.g., MapReduce, Flume).
Experience coding in one or more languages: Java, C++, Python, Go, JavaScript.
Experience managing client-facing projects, troubleshooting technical issues, working with Engineering, Sales, Services, and customers.

Preferred qualifications:

Professional Cloud certification (GCP/Databricks) on Data Engineering.
Experience working with data warehouses, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT, and reporting/analytic tools and environments.
Experience in technical consulting.
Experience working with Big Data, information retrieval, data mining, or machine learning.
Experience in building multi-tier high availability applications with modern web technologies (e.g., NoSQL, MongoDB, SparkML, TensorFlow).
Experience architecting, developing software, or internet scale production-grade Big Data solutions in virtualized environments.

About the job

As a Technical Solutions Consultant, you will be responsible for the technical relationship of our largest advertising clients and/or product partners. You will lead cross-functional teams in Engineering, Sales and Product Management to leverage emerging technologies for our external clients/partners. From concept design and testing to data analysis and support, you will oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's online advertising platforms and/or product partnerships.

You will be able to balance business and partner needs with technical constraints, develop innovative, cutting edge solutions and act as a partner and consultant to those you are working with. You will also be able to build tools and automate products, oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's partnerships, as well as develop product strategy and prioritize projects and resources.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will guide customers on how to ingest, store, process, analyze, and explore/visualize data on the Google Cloud Platform. You will work on data migrations and transformational projects, and with customers to design large-scale data processing systems, develop data pipelines optimized for scaling, and troubleshoot potential platform challenges. In this role, you will be working with Google's strategic Cloud customers, and with the team you will support customer implementation of Google Cloud products.

Communicate effectively via video conferencing for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities.
Travel 40% of the time as necessary.
