Focus of the Role
As a Constructor Repairer (Hybrid role), you will be focus centred on Heavy Haulage transportation of large-scale machinery D10-D7 dozers and Excavators for Telstra’s/Infraco’ s Internal Fibre Crews across Australia. Other parts of the role will be assisting Internal Plough crews construct the fibre network by means of operating machines and manual labour to assist with meeting stakeholder completion dates.

What You’ll Do
Telstra InfraCo - Operations & Asset Management oversees Telstra's operations and asset management functions.
- Achieve faultless end to end construction of Optical Fibre cable, provisioning and maintenance of the customer access network and associated infrastructure through compliance to prescribed standards, practices and procedures, and to the full satisfaction of customers expectation.
- Plan and undertake planned activities associated to infrastructure maintenance and upgrades, through compliance to prescribed standards, practices and procedures within given time-lines.
- You will be accountable for the delivery, HSE and administrative task associated with InfraCo’ s transportation of heavy machinery to site.
- You will work within a team environment contributing to the delivery of a premium level of service to our customers by ensuring all work is undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner, meeting set quality standards and customer commitments.
- You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with your peers and key internal and external stakeholders relevant to the achievement of business performance objectives.
- HSE Responsibility: Take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others, comply with, and implement any reasonable Telstra HSE instruction, policy, standard, minimum requirement or procedure, and support Telstra to meet its duties under the relevant safety and environmental legislation.
- Work in accordance with a continuous work roster of 18 nights away 10 nights home.
- You will always maintain network integrity. ‘Always on”
- This role is for Fixed Term for 18 months (with the possibility of moving to permanent role)
About You
- Experience with transporting Heavy Haulage of Plant Machinery, Dozers D10 to D7- 40T Excavators within/across state and territories borders.
- Experience/Knowledge of loading and unloading plant.
- Operating Experience with Low Loader and Dolly.
- Truck Licence, MC essential.
- Maintain logbook and
- Current/in-date transport permits through NVHR.
- Western Australia Main Roads- Permits
- Heavy Plant knowledge and operating experience with Dozers, Excavators, Backhoe’s.
- Manual labour duties associated with Plough construction- Pit and Pipe Install, Rod and Roping, Marker Post Installation, Re-Establishing property owner infrastructure fences, irrigation, Cleaning and Greasing heavy machinery for daily operations.
- Roster- 18 days on/ 10 nights off (travel in work time)
- You will exhibit an elevated level of commitment and be able to plan and manage your daily tasks.
- You will have an elevated level of customer focus.
- Ability to build and manage strong relationships with fellow colleagues of the team and other key stakeholders associated with the project.
- You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage multiple tasks at any given time.
- You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a high performing team
