The internship involves data ingestion and analysis, exploring technology tools, supporting tool management, assisting the Creative Innovation team, and learning Netflix tools and workflows. The internship is paid, lasts at least 10 weeks, and is located in Los Angeles, CA.

Through strategic business development, we enable global content teams to experiment and innovate at scale.

The Creative Innovation Intern will play a crucial role in supporting our innovation initiatives, with a specific focus on a project involving the discovery of unique and exciting use cases for Generative AI tools. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical curiosity and a passion for exploring emerging technology applications. As an intern, you’ll be involved in program and project management, data wrangling, and categorization tasks, while also gaining hands-on experience with the filmmaking tools our productions use.

You do not need prior experience in these technologies to apply - simply an entrepreneurial spirit; once you submit your application, you’ll receive an email inviting you to complete your application by filling out an Airtable form. You’ll also be asked to submit a two-paragraph 300-word-maximum statement of intent (preferably in PDF format) within the form using the following prompt:

⭐ Imagine you are pitching your own technology startup to Netflix to solve a specific filmmaking challenge - whether in pre-production, production, or post production. What would your innovative solution be, and why do you think it would make a difference?

Who are you?

  • A currently enrolled student pursuing their Undergrad or Masters degree with authorization to work in the USA and an expected graduation date of December ‘25 or Spring ‘26 (if undergrad)

  • Must have a passion for the intersection between technology and creativity, with a strong appreciation for new emerging technologies that can advance and enhance storytelling for Film/TV. 

  • Curious about a wide range of technology innovations, with a strong aptitude to use technology platforms and understand their features. 

  • Have the ability to effectively identify and communicate insights and executive summaries on qualitative & quantitative production data. 

  • Must be collaborative and able to work in a dynamic “all hands on deck” environment

  • Must be self-motivated and able to take initiative to work independently

  • Exhibits attention to detail and good judgment, with strong written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clarity and fostering collaboration.

  • Has the ability to maintain confidentiality and utmost discretion while being privy to sensitive information

  • Must reside in the Los Angeles area for the duration of the internship (relocation and housing support will be provided)

What might you do?

  • Engage in a specific project focused on data ingestion and analysis to identify unique use cases for emerging technology used by global productions. 

  • Explore various technology tools, watch tutorials, and become proficient in their use.

  • Support tool license management, and onboarding documentation, and provide tool users administrative support. 

  • Assist and shadow the Creative Innovation team in their day-to-day operations

  • Learn Netflix tools and how to operate within the

  • Build relationships with partner teams across the company

  • Learn about the larger emerging technology marketplace (tools to know, trends to track, etc.)

The Summer Internship

At Netflix, we offer a personalized experience for interns, and our aim is to offer an experience that mimics what it is like to actually work here. We match qualified interns with projects and groups based on interests and skill sets, and fully embed interns within those groups for the summer. Internships are paid and are a minimum of 10 weeks, with a choice of a couple fixed start dates in June to accommodate varying school calendars. Conditions permitting, our summer internships in 2025 for Content will be located in our Los Angeles, CA, office.

We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your specific internship team, degree, and years of education to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. 

The overall market range for Netflix Internships in Content is typically $20/hour - $40/hour.
