Job Description

As an Apigee and Application Integration Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams as a subject matter expert in application integration to differentiate Google Cloud to customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. Responsibilities include working with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, sharing in-depth expertise on API management and application integration, evaluating processes for prospects, working with Google Cloud products to demonstrate integrations, recommending integration strategies, and traveling to customer sites and events.
Must have:
  • 6+ years cloud native architecture experience
  • API & application integration expertise
  • Experience presenting to technical stakeholders
  • Google Cloud product knowledge
  • Problem-solving and solution development skills
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in technical field
  • Experience with legacy & modern application development
  • Knowledge of security protocols (OAuth, mTLS, SAML, JWT, SSO)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with API and application integration technologies such as API management or API security.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with legacy and modern application development, container orchestration systems, middleware technologies, and other applicable platforms.
  • Experience with integration architecture patterns, security protocols, enterprise messaging patterns, APIs, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), or Business Process Management (BPM)
  • Experience with cloud technologies including SaaS applications, iPaaS, business automation solutions, cloud infrastructure, and cloud networking.
  • Understanding of Google Cloud, multi and hybrid-cloud strategies, and associated technologies.
  • Knowledge of security and understanding of API security technologies such as OAuth, mTLS, SAML, JWT, and SSO.

You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will have excellent technical, communication and organizational skills. You will partner with internal engineering stakeholders to improve products and build solutions, optimizing for results when in production and identifying innovative ways to multiply your impact and the impact of the team as a whole.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Share in-depth subject matter expertise on Application programming interface (API) management, application integration platform, security, and other application modernization areas to support the technical relationship with customers. Evaluate process for prospects, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concepts, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
  • Work with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
