This role is a Senior System Engineer within Finastra's Sophis Platform squad, responsible for deployment, patching, and infrastructure management of the Sophis financial markets package. The engineer will be the first point of contact for infrastructure issues, handling incident, problem, and change management. Key responsibilities include Azure-based deployment (client and server-side), acceptance testing, monitoring Sophis platform alerts, and automating operational tasks using continuous delivery tools within Azure DevOps. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of Oracle 19c, Windows 2023 servers, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, along with experience in monitoring and scheduling jobs and modeling technical architectures. A DevOps mindset and comfortable interaction with internal customers are essential. Agile methodology and continuous delivery experience are required.

Your role & work environment
We are looking for a Senior System engineer to join us in Sophis Platform squad responsible for deployment, patching and managing the infrastructure for Finastra's financial markets package Sophis, within the FM&GT Sophis area. You'll work in a multi skilled Platform team, using the agile methodology to deliver on the company and business' priorities, from the backlog.
You need a have fair knowledge of financial market aspect but not must. You can handle well immediate user-facing interaction with our internal customers as well as working on backlog stories.
You strive towards automation, and you assist in bringing us to full continuous delivery.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

As a system engineer, one of the key roles is to be the first line of interaction with our users in case of any issue on infrastructure in nature. You'll need to handle comfortably all sides of service management such as incident, problem and change management.

Thanks to your technical knowledge of the deployment, you should be able to use the Azure for the deployment of Sophis package (client and server side), you'll assist the ops and other system engineers in acceptance testing on infrastructure, deployment, maintaining and proactive monitoring all Sophis platform alerts for the different processes.

With a DevOps attitude, you'll need to automate ops related tasks using the modern continuous delivery tools from source control for your scripts to extending existing deployment pipelines with Azure DevOps.

You use your technical expertise and experience to contribute to all sprint events (planning, refinements, retrospectives, demos).

You contribute to and maintain road map to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.

Where possible, you take on tasks/activities that contribute to the mission, even when they are not entirely within your area of expertise.

Skills

Must have

Experience in set-up of application within cloud environment.

Good knowledge in Oracle 19c, Windows 2023 servers and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 OS.

Experience in implementation of monitoring and scheduling jobs.

Experience in modelling technical architecture for complex application

Experience in Financial Market domain is an asset.

Comfortable with Agile and Continuous Delivery practices.

Pro-active, assertive and a good communicator.

Have an excellent written and spoken English!

(Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is an asset);

Working knowledge of Linux
