Job Description

The Data Center Security Manager at Google is responsible for managing security vendors, budgeting for security services, and collaborating with other business units to implement security policies, investigate violations, and resolve security concerns at the data center. This role involves managing active security incidents, responding to critical events, liaising with public safety, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Responsibilities include managing site security incidents, guard contracts, and physical security issues; providing after-hours on-call support; implementing compliance processes; and managing security-related costs through budgeting and forecasting. The ideal candidate will have experience managing security technologies, such as CCTV and access control systems, and experience leading teams to achieve business outcomes.

Must have:

5+ years leading data center operations/projects
5+ years managing resources & vendors
Experience with security technologies (CCTV, access control)
Incident management & security operations center experience
Managing technical and non-technical teams
Compliance, security, and risk management program implementation

Good to have:

Master's degree in Criminal Justice
Investigation experience (criminal, HR, safety)
Data center & security system design experience
Construction site security experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience leading operational or project based work and tasks, and coordinating or managing resources for data center locations.
5 years of experience managing, sourcing, or procuring business resources and vendors.
Experience with security technologies, including CCTV, access control, incident management systems, and security operations centers.
Experience managing technical and non-technical groups to drive business outcomes.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
Experience in conducting investigations, including criminal, human resources, and safety incidents.
Experience in data center and security system elements of design.
Experience working on active construction sites and providing safety/security countermeasures.
Experience in security systems or physical security for construction projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As a Data Center Security Manager, you will be in charge of managing security vendors and budgeting for security services on the location. You will collaborate with other Google business units to implement security policy, investigate violations, and resolve security concerns at the data center. You will manage active security incidents, respond to all critical events, and liaise with public safety.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for the compliance, security and risk management program at the Data Center campus or related infrastructure which includes managing site security incidents, escalations, guard contract management, and all other physical security related issues.
Provide after-hours on-call management support and participate in emergent, large-scale event response or crisis management when needed.
Implement established compliance processes aligned with CSRM policies, standards, guidelines, and relevant legal or regulatory requirements.
Manage the security related costs through budget, forecasting and invoice control for the assigned campus, assist management with financial analysis and input to financial decisions for security requirements.
