Our team works with game developers throughout production to help them integrate and optimize the latest, greatest technology. The Havok team in the San Francisco & Redmond campuses are seeking a Developer Relations Engineer who will enable technical, artistic, and imaginative developers to create stunning experiences and redefine the boundaries of interactive 3D. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn, design, and implement Havok products that are at the forefront of the industry, and even directly improve the products with your own ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with developers providing advice and support on how best to integrate our technology in their game engine.
  • Work closely with customers through all stages of their game's development from prototype through release and beyond.
  • Accurately assess customers' requirements and recommend solutions which best meet these requirements for a task or overall software solution.
  • Use customer feedback to implement improvements and features in our products.
  • Proactively learn & implement new technologies quickly and independently.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in Havok products and practices as well as technology in the game industry at large.
  • Learn from, and be mentored by, some of the best engineers in the industry.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in C++ coding, debugging, and testing skills.
  • 1+ year(s) professional 3D software development experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience within the Games Industry
    • Commitment to, and understanding of, the video game industry.
    • Working with customers or partners on technical solutions.
  • Working with a team in a shared environment.
  • Experience working on Engines, Tools and Environments
    • Game engine development, 3D graphics or simulation programming.
    • Using commercial 3D engines (e.g. Unreal Engine, Unity).
    • Using 3D modeling tools (e.g. Maya, 3ds Max, Blender).
    • Mobile development (iOS or Android).
  • Expereince managing customers and good communication skills
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
